<Inspiration: Nezumi-Shino Wagtail Patterned Bowl (鼠志野鶺鴒文鉢 Nezumi-Shino Sekirai-Mon Hachi)>
A unique three feet Mino ware made between the 16th and 17th centuries using the Nezumi-Shino style glazing. The process involves applying an iron-rich slip called ‘onibane’ to a formed vessel, then scraping off parts to create a pattern, before applying a feldspar glaze and firing. The name ‘Nezumi-Shino’ (literally ‘Mouse Shino’) comes from the mouse-grey colour that appears where the onibane remains.
